MRT System |

Mass
Rapid Transit system (MRT) in Taipei, together
with the metropolitan area's dedicated bus route network,
forms a convenient transportation system. The MRT system currently
has nine lines in operation. For MRT operation routes map,
please see below. These lines are dotted with a variety of
attractions and scenic spots. As a result, visitors can take
a leisurely journey through most of the attractive parts of
Taipei by using MRT.
Ticket
machines can be found in all MRT stations, providing ticketing
services with English instructions (coin changers are also
provided in all stations.) A "single-journey ticket"
price ranges from NT$20 to NT$65 depending on travel distance.¡@
A $150 ¡§one-day pass¡¨ purchased from the service booth will
allow unlimited travel among all MRT lines within one day.
Please take advantage of the one-day pass if you wish to visit
spots along the MRT lines. Recently, MRT continued promoting
the use of ¡§Easy Go¡¨ cards which are very convenient. ¡§Easy
Go¡¨ cards integrate MRT, buses, and public off-road car parks
in Taipei through a contactless smartcard ticketing system.
¡§Easy Go¡¨ cards can be purchased in any MRT stations. For
details about Easy-Card, please refer to the official website:¡@http://www.easycard.com.tw/english/index.asp
